About Rock Community Church |
| Rock Community Church is a Spirit-filled church founded in February 1999 by Pastor
Jeff Borden and his wife Lori in response to the prompting of the Lord.
In a day of intense pressure and turmoil on families and individuals,
wholesome values, virtue and decency are rapidly declining. Good character
and moral integrity have lost their significance while the benchmark
for greatness has become the result (achievements) with little regard
for the means of success. People are turning away from truth and developing
their own system of ethics to live by. However, at Rock Community Church,
we believe in the timeless principles outlined in the Bible. | | | | Apart from the scriptures, the basis for morality is subject to man's capricious ambitions for self-satisfaction and rule. Jesus said, "In the last days lawlessness would abound and the love of many would grow cold" (Matthew 24:12). Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul wrote, "In the last days perilous times would come: for men would be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power." (2 Timothy 3:2b-5a). Based on these words, contemporary life could be considered the "last days". | | | | At Rock Community Church, we have been commissioned to build our house upon the Rock. When the winds blow and the storms hit, our foundation will hold us (cf. Matthew 7:24-27). Our foundation is Jesus! God has positioned us in this time to prepare people for the difficult trials ahead. Therefore, our commitment to preaching, fellowship, worship, evangelism and prayer is essential. We are dedicated to saving souls, equipping the saints of God for effective ministry to unbelievers and to the discipleship of Christians. God has called us to teach the meat of God's word, to train every Christian how to give a defense for the hope that is in them (1 Peter 3:15), and demonstrate how to live a holy life (2 Peter 1:3, 4). | | | | We endeavor to strengthen marriages, families and individuals so they can know the richness of life with God (John 10:10).
